How to quickly download and install multiple apps on Mac

When you buy a new Mac or reinstall the system on an old one, you really want to quickly download all the applications you need and start working. But instead, you have to wander around the AppStore for a long time, constantly clicking "Install", and open developer sites, downloading endless DMGs.

Windows users are spared such torments: they have a wonderful utility Ninite, which allows you to download several programs at a time. And in Linux, this option is generally built—in - it is enough to cancel the applications you need in Synaptic or another package manager, or simply list their names on the command line, for example: sudo apt install firefox keepasxc transmission, and everything will install itself.

But all this is not available for macOS. But there is an alternative — a service called Macapps.link. It will allow you to quickly supply the "bare" system with your favorite programs without manual work.

The service is as simple as possible. Open it in a browser, and then select the programs you need on the page.

When you're done, click on the "Install N apps..." button in the upper—right corner of the page and copy the code that you will be provided with - you can use the keyboard shortcut Cmd + C.

Now open the "Terminal" on your Mac. This can be done through the Launchpad application menu — it is located in the "Others" folder. Or through the Spotlight search — click on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner or press Cmd + "Space bar" and type "Terminal".

After launching the Terminal, insert your command and press Enter.

Wait until the installation process is complete and the message "Thank you for using macapps.link..." appears, and then close the command prompt.

That's it, the necessary programs have appeared in Launchpad.

Now, when you need to download a dozen or two applications at once, you will not have to do tedious manual work.
