How to use the steamer

Why do I need a steamer

The hot steam that is supplied from the device helps to quickly smooth out creases and creases on various products. Unlike an iron, the steamer acts more gently on fabrics, so it can be used without fear for delicate materials — for example, silk, lace or tulle. The gadget is suitable for things with prints and decor like sequins and beads.

With the steamer, you do not need to take out bulky ironing boards. To make things look neat, they can be left on the hanger. The device will help to quickly smooth out curtains and curtains that hang on the ledge, as well as already made bed linen.

Hot steam is also able to refresh clothes between washes and eliminate foreign odors. In addition, some models have different nozzles. For example, a special brush collects wool, hair and other small debris from the fabric during the ironing process.

Steamers can be manual and stationary (vertical). The first ones are compact and mobile, they are convenient to take with you on the road, but one charging cycle is enough for only a few things. The latter work from an outlet and, as a rule, have more power, so they cope with the task better.

What kind of water can be poured into the steamer

Sometimes device manufacturers allow the use of regular tap water. Such a liquid may contain many minerals and impurities. As a result, the device will have to be descaled more often, and stains may remain on clothes.

Try to pour distilled, filtered or bottled drinking water into the steamer. Such liquids are safe for both the device and the tissues.

How to prepare the steamer for operation

The principle of operation of the devices is similar, but different models may have their own features and additional functions. Read the instructions carefully before using the gadget and follow the manufacturer's recommendations. There is also information on how to assemble the device correctly for the first time.

Remove the special water tank from the steamer, fill it with liquid to the maximum mark and insert it back. Turn on the device and let it warm up. Depending on the model, it takes an average of 30-45 seconds.

How to use the steamer

To iron most types of clothes, you need to hang them on special hangers of a stationary device or on a regular hanger. By the way, you don't have to turn things inside out. Trousers with arrows must be secured on a hanger with clips and placed on a flat surface (for example, on a table), with a towel or other dense material.

Put on a special thermal glove (it is often included) so as not to burn your hand. Start steaming the largest parts of the clothes. Hold the nozzle no further than 1 cm from the material and guide it from top to bottom and back, slightly pulling the fabric. At the same time, you can safely press the iron close to the fabric.

Then smooth out the remaining small details — collar, cuffs, patch pockets, belt and decorative elements. Leave the product on the hanger and let it dry completely.

Curtains and curtains can be steamed without removing them from the ledge. Pull the material with your hand and guide the nozzle from top to bottom. If necessary, smooth the product on the other side as well.

  • After using the device, be sure to turn it off from the mains. Try to remove the remaining water from the tank and pour a portion of fresh liquid into it each time immediately before ironing.
  • Do not touch the tube and heating elements of the device, so as not to get burned. After use, let it cool completely, and then wipe the iron with a clean, dry cloth.
  • If the water in the tank runs out during the steaming process, turn off the device, wait for it to cool down and only then top up the liquid. The same should be done when changing the nozzles.
  • Do not shake, tilt, or flip the device when it is running.
  • Remember that you can not steam clothes on yourself or on another person. During the ironing process, do not point the steam sprayer at people, pets and plants.
  • Keep the steamer away from children. Do not leave the device running unattended.
