1. Rain

2. Divorce of Nader and Simin

"The divorce of Nader and Simin" won the award "Oscar " in 2012 in the category "Best Foreign Language Film". This is the first Iranian painting to be awarded this award. It turned out to be a great drama, telling not only about family relationships, but also about the social structure of Iran.

3. Song of the Nightingales

"Layla's Brothers" was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Critics loved the Iranian film very much for its excellent script. It turned out to be a touching, but at the same time a terrible story about poverty.

5. Evil does not exist

The film "Evil does not Exist" was awarded the Golden Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival. The director of the film, Mohammad Rasulof, had an official ban on filming, so his assistants asked permission for four short films in different regions of Iran, keeping the name of Mohammad secret.

6. Three faces

"Three Faces" was awarded the Best Screenplay award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2018. The director of the film Jafar Panahi received an award in absentia — he was not allowed to leave the country. He is also known for his work on another drama, Taxi.

7. Incorruptible

"Incorruptible" took the prize at the Cannes Film Festival in the category "Special look". This is a cruel story about the confrontation between a small man and a corporation. The film is directed by Mohammad Rasulof, who shot the film "Evil does not exist".

The Iranian film Taxi was awarded the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. The film is the third in a row for director Jafar Panahi since he received a 20-year ban from filming. The equipment did not leave the limits of the car in order not to attract the attention of the authorities. Also, the names of the actors are not indicated in the credits, except for the human rights activist: this is done for security reasons.
