Residents of several cities in the U.S. state of Texas noticed mysterious columns of red or orange light in the sky on March 23. A few days earlier, eyewitnesses from Egypt reported about this.

Although reports about the extraterrestrial nature of such a spectacle immediately began to appear on the Internet, it is very likely that we are talking about the so-called solar pillars, a phenomenon in which the sun's rays, passing through ice crystals in the air, are visible from the Ground as bright vertical stripes of light. They are usually observed during sunrise or sunset.

The leading meteorologist of the Texas TV channel ABC13, Travis Herzog, noted that the weather conditions in Texas last week allowed ice crystals to form in the cold air, while the sources of red-orange light could be flashes from a chemical or oil refinery in the area.

Interestingly, a few days before, a similar phenomenon was noticed in Alexandria (Egypt). There is a high probability that weather conditions coincided in these places, due to which the effect was observed in different countries with a difference of a couple of days.
