In the last few months, I have become «lucky» — I began to get on a huge number of new people for me. I call them "Steve Jobs" (in quotes). This is a real pandemic. And here I would like to tell you how to deal with them and how to determine that you are facing another patient.
Undoubtedly, the late Steve did a lot for the industry, for users, to change the very paradigm of IT and its products. Like any other genius, he acted with his authority and achievements very disastrously on immature minds and deeply suppressed their own "I", forced them to imitate in the primitive sense of this action. As a result, people began to get sick — they feel like Steve Jobs. Of course, groundless.
Signs of such patients:
— they don't listen to you, they cut you off in the middle of a word;
— they believe that acting defiantly is a necessary part of their image: feet on the table, imitation of complete lack of interest;
— they believe that they have a flair for the "right people" and immediately see "brilliant products" — their background speaks of the opposite situation;
— their personal achievements are much more modest than the merits of their role model, which causes them pain and they behave even more idiotically.
How to deal with them:
— it is best, of course, to avoid meeting them if you recognize a "genius" who knows everything and he doesn't need you;
— helps to ask: "Are you mowing for Steve or something?" — causes them shock and loss of imaginary "charisma";
— it is also worth asking for the expert opinion of "Steve" and if he is substituted, then it is easy to defeat him.
It's a pity that people only see the pretense — outrage, pathos and rudeness, but they absolutely do not understand that all this is a wrapper, and inside there is hellish work, sleepless nights, teamwork and many, many mistakes.
