At the stage of organization, which I wrote about in the previous article, you can make a lot more mistakes than I can imagine, but still, I probably made my most important mistakes at the stage of Analysis and planning. The presence of a large amount of routine and natural fatigue with an increasing load during the first time following GTD often do not allow you to devote proper time to analyzing what has been done and planning the next day. And as I have already written, I consider the only rule of success that always works: feedback.
The first thing I would like to focus on is underestimating someone else's experience and, as a result, overestimating my strength. What am I talking about? About «Big Stones» day, week, month… The number three, which is recommended by almost everyone, did not arise from scratch. It's an experience. And grabbing after successfully completed three important tasks for the next important one waiting for its turn, we do not leave time for pebbles and sand. Besides, important things are energetically and mentally costly, otherwise they would not be important.
As a result, — fatigue and stress from accumulated turnover. In addition, you probably didn't have enough time for unexpected incoming cases, or you had to work late. All this prompts us to stop analyzing and planning altogether. Therefore, you should stop after the three main tasks. Perform a routine related to the current day, and then, even if there is more time left than usual, spend it on rest and more careful planning.
I will describe the second error associated with an incorrect estimate of time and my simple solution in the next, probably the last note at this moment.
