Some tips for working with the Windows command line

Many users just love the command line in the "Unix" OS. There it is called Terminal or "shell". Windows also has its own command line, and even if it is not so advanced and functional, however, it allows you to make some system settings that are not available in graphical execution.

Valker's blog has published some tips for working with the command line, which turn it into a more convenient tool:

1. To adjust the color of the window and text, use the "COLOR" command.
2. To set the title — "TITLE".
3. By pressing the <F7> key, the command history appears.
4. Open System Menu > Properties > set "Quick Edit Mode". Now you can drag the names of files and directories into the window cmd.exe with the mouse (drag'n’drop).
5. Use the <TAB key> for autofill of file and directory names. In this mode, the name mask is also understood. Try to go to a directory with a lot of text files, type dir *.txt and press TAB several times. This also works for folders.
