A few simple tips to increase the working time of the iPod

You can argue about which player is better. I and another 100 million people around the world will tell you that there is no better iPod player. And there is no need to talk about attachment to iTunes, this is a concept that no one has the right to encroach on. And today we will discuss with you the topic of extending the work of the iPod from charging, i.e. we will try to increase the battery life. These tips do not pretend to be new, they are not expert advice and they concern not only the iPod, but, to varying degrees, all such devices. Many tips came to my mind as an iPod nano user with six months of experience.

So:

  • Do not overcool your player, because batteries are not friendly with cold at all.
  • Do not overheat the battery – it is very harmful. By the way, it is not recommended to keep the iPod in the case while charging – so it overheats more.
  • Charge your player regularly. Even when turned off, the iPod consumes battery power. At normal room temperature, the battery will last for some 20-30 days. And a battery that has completely lost its charge loses its properties and may not charge again. It will be necessary to "start" it. How to do this with the iPod case completely closed is a mystery to me.
  • Minimize the operating time of the screen backlight or turn it off altogether, if this does not interfere with normal operation, for example, in the constant sun.
  • Use Hold’a to lock the keys – their accidental pressing or triggering of the scroll wheel lights up the screen, which also does not contribute to an increase in battery life.
  • Disable the equalizer if its activity is not critical for you. His work has a detrimental effect on the iPod's operating time.
  • Frequent song switching also reduces battery life, especially for "adult" iPods with built-in HDD. Additional access to the hard drive – additional power consumption.
  • There is an opinion that for iPods of all stripes, the optimal size of the composition is up to 9Mb, because the player cache is most "sharpened" for them. Big DJ sets are more "voracious".

These are tips for deliberate following and you don't need to run to cut another hour and a half A State of Trance from Armin Van Buuren — it's already beautiful and to hell with it with the battery, but it listens much better in a warm feeder than in an outer jacket pocket in the cold.

Act rationally and your player will delight you with not one or two years of trouble-free operation. Have a nice sound!
