Actress Caitlin Deaver joined the cast of the series The Last of Us from HBO. In the second season, she will play Abby, who seeks revenge for the death of loved ones.
The basis for the sequel will be the game The Last of Us Part II. In it, Abby is just as important a character as Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey. Neil Drakmann and Craig Mazin will remain the showrunners of the project.
27-year-old Diver is known for her roles in the TV series "Breaking" and last year's horror film "No one will save you." Interestingly, initially she could play Ellie, but the producers of the show decided that she was too old for a 14-year-old character.
Filming of the second season is scheduled to begin in February, and its release is expected only in 2025. We will have to wait so long because of the strikes in Hollywood last year, which pushed back production deadlines.
