The app store for Apple TV unexpectedly released Zoom stealth-dropped an Apple TV version of its meetings app / The Verge Zoom — for Home TV application. It works on Apple TV 4K of the second generation and newer (that is, at least 2021) and works on the same principle as FaceTime, which was added to set-top boxes with the release of tvOS 17.
The app doesn't rely on the TV's built-in camera (which most models don't have anyway), but uses the Continuity Camera feature, which turns an iPhone or iPad into a webcam or microphone. This feature requires iOS 17 or iPadOS 17.
Zoom for Apple TV supports calls with and without video, integration with the calendar app and other basic functions. You can log in to your TV account with a username or via your smartphone.A similar application for smart TVs on Android and Google TV was released on Google Play back in the summer.
