Developers are dissatisfied with the principles of Apple's approval of iPhone apps

The public is watching with interest how events related to the approval process for iPhone applications in Apple are unfolding. Many sites pay attention to the problem and write about it, and 9to5 Mac and TechCrunch are no exception. The thing is that about a week and a half ago, a developer from Facebook* Joe Hewitt has submitted a new version of the Facebook* 3.0 app for approval in the App Store, and Apple has not received any news on this score.

The other day, Hewitt wrote an angry post on his blog, in which he calls on Apple to completely abandon this senseless application evaluation process. In his opinion, the company's attempts to protect its devices and their users from malware are, of course, justified in some ways, but there is one "but". The entire World Wide Web has been working for a long time (and very successfully) without sterilizing every application or program, and only then transferring it to users. So Apple could have trusted the developers and, instead of spending the whole team's time checking each proposed application, simply controlled the work of the App Store. It's very simple and quite logical: users themselves are able to choose which applications for their smartphones are good and which are not. And if some developer offers something malicious or useless to download, the user will report it, and access to the App Store will simply be closed for him. Google also works the same way, checking applications created for Android. And although Android is not as popular as the iPhone, Apple's management could well take an example from Google and somehow rationalize their employees' working hours.
