«Responses from the can» in Gmail (in the original — canned responses) — one of the interesting features that not everyone appreciated. Or maybe you haven't even heard of them, eh? Then today's note will definitely help you.

Why do I like this feature personally? First, — I can save any text from the letter as a blank for a response for the future without opening new windows and without losing my temper. The second — prepared answers are very easy to use, and the third, — they can be used for automatic response, which is logical, but not always obvious.

If you are an active person, and active in your Network activities, then you probably have to receive a lot of correspondence, which is unlikely to be processed right away, unless you hack, of course. But politeness requires a response, at least in the form of a formal confirmation of your receipt of the letter. So you tell the user that you will not forget about him, and you are not going to ignore him.

It is quite simple to do this:

  • Enter the text you would like to send automatically and create a new saved response.
  • Create a filter that will work for all the emails you are interested in, and do not forget to test it immediately. That is why I would recommend before creating a filter to go to a folder with a sufficient amount of correspondence, for example in «All mail ». In the second step of creating the filter, select the response you created.

That's all — your correspondents will receive a notification from you, and you will be able to process the mail exactly when it is convenient for you.
