The 1Password password manager, after implementing technology support Passkey in mobile applications, now allows Now in beta: Create and unlock a 1Password account with a passkey / 1Password and log in to the service itself without a password. Previously, this feature was tested in a closed beta, but now everyone can turn on the feature in a couple of clicks. It is available in applications for Mac, iOS, iPadOS, Windows and Android, as well as in the web version and extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave and Safari.
Passkey allows you to securely generate cryptographic keys to verify your identity. It is enough for the user to simply unlock the smartphone using biometrics or a password code to confirm your identity to the site or application. Moreover, through one trusted device, you can confirm login on all your gadgets — for example, using an iPhone to log in to an iPad and a Windows computer.

After setting up your account, you will be able to log in to your account using a biometric scanner on your device or a password code from your smartphone or computer. After configuring the first device, you can add other trusted gadgets.
1Password notes that additional devices increase security: even if you lose access to one of your gadgets, you can use the other to restore access. Optionally, you can also set up a recovery code — it can be released and printed or saved in the cloud in case of an emergency.
