The new product from Taiwanese HTC became the company's first smartphone without a 3.5 mm connector. The device — almost the only one on the market — has a waterproof metal case. Besides HTC Bolt, only iPhone 7 and 7 Plus come to mind.
The 5.5-inch smartphone is protected according to the IP57 standard, which allows it to spend up to half an hour underwater at a depth of 1 meter. It is possible that for this very reason the manufacturer had to sacrifice a mini headphone jack so popular with most users. The rest of the HTC Bolt is a stripped—down copy of the flagship tenth model.
An 8-core Snapdragon 810 processor with a clock speed of up to 2 GHz is responsible for the performance of the new product. The amount of RAM, as well as the built-in, is standard for most modern devices and has a gradation of 3/32 GB. For those who are looking for large volumes, the manufacturer has provided a slot for microSD cards up to 2 TB inclusive.
The HTC Bolt rear camera has a resolution of 16 MP, phase autofocus, an optical image stabilizer and an F/2.0 aperture. There is support for 4K video, as well as shooting photos in RAW format. The front module is equipped with a sensor with half the resolution and a similar light intensity indicator.
The integrated battery has a capacity of 3,200 mAh and is compatible with high-speed chargers. According to the manufacturer, this will be enough to provide the smartphone with up to a day and a half of active work. You can also use the power saving mode. A USB-C connector is provided for charging.
So far, only residents of the United States will be able to purchase a smartphone with a link to the operator. The start of international deliveries will be announced later.
