With the release of Chrome 112 in early April, Google made a number of improvements that made it possible to speed up the browser on macOS and Android.
Chromium's blog post describes Chrome optimizations that have improved browser performance — and especially its speed. For example, in the case of Chrome for macOS, developers have refined several JavaScript functions, including toString() and join(), which are used in many sites and frameworks.
This and a number of other changes in previous updates have led to a 10% increase in the speed of Chrome on macOS over the past 3 months. But these are small things compared to the Android version.
Google does not go into details, but promises that users of flagship Android smartphones will see a 30% increase in speed. It is not specified on which devices such results were obtained.
Anyway, any improvements in the performance of a popular browser are a pleasant thing. To test the changes on your smartphone or computer, don't forget to update Chrome to the latest version.
