Descent into the Abyss will be released in Russian cinemas on February 8. This is a French film that became the winner of the Screamfest 2023 and Toronto After Dark 2023 horror film festivals.
The plot centers on a group of miners who are tasked with escorting a scientist to the excavation site. At the very bottom of the mine, they stumble upon an ancient crypt and awaken a terrible and bloodthirsty evil that has been lurking in the darkness for centuries.
The film was directed and written by Mathieu Toury, who worked on the post-apocalyptic "Survivors" (Hostile, 2017) and the thriller "The Maze Runner" (Méandre, 2019). The main roles were played by Samuel Le Bian, Amir El Kasem, Toma Soliveres and Jean-Yug Anglade.
