Arnold Schwarzenegger gave an interview to The Hollywood Reporter, in which he touched on legendary projects with his participation. He named his most underrated film — "The Last Movie Hero" of 1993 — but also did not avoid talking about the cult "Terminator".
Here's what he answered to the question of whether the franchise is completed:
The franchise is not over, but I'm done with it. I clearly understood that people want to see other topics in Terminator. We need someone with a good new idea.
"Terminator" contributed a lot to my success, and I always look at this series with love. The first three films were great. I missed the fourth one because I was governor then. As far as I understand, the fifth and sixth failed. We suspected this in advance, because they were not written very well.
The actor was also asked about his attitude to the fact that the phrase "I'll be back" has become his calling card. He replied that no one expected this. On the set, he didn't even want to say the phrase I'll be back and offered to replace it with I will be back. But the director convinced him to say the original version with different intonations to the camera — and we all know how it ended. Schwarzenegger himself treats the legendary phrase calmly:
I'm not the kind of person who will complicate everything and say, "I don't want to compare myself with my films or use replicas from them." Clint Eastwood generally takes clothes from the filming of his films and only wears them. So why should I worry about using some phrase?
Although the actor has obviously finished with the Terminator, projects with his participation continue to come out. Already on May 25, "Fubar", the first series starring Schwarzenegger, will start on Netflix, and on June 7, the documentary series "Arnold" about his life path will be released on the same site.
