- Understand that you are in control. First of all, you need to believe in yourself, realizing that we always make the choice to worry or not. Therefore, you can influence the process and become the master of the situation.
- Admit that excitement is a habit. Like any habit, it has inertia, do not expect instant deliverance. But you can part with any habit.
- Don't lose perspective. E. Joseph Crossman said, «If you want to test your memory, try to remember what you were worried about exactly a year ago». Are you still worried about it? Will it matter in a year, ten, a hundred years?
- Don't turn away from your fears. Nelson DeMille said that for some reason our demons are not what we expected when we meet them face to face. After you do what you were afraid to do, you will most likely realize that not everything is as scary as it seemed. Over time, this way you can get rid of all the worries.
- Don't try to control everything and everything. You can't control the whole world. Often things happen that you absolutely cannot influence and therefore you just need to accept them. It's a part of our life and excitement can't change anything.
- Stop taking yourself so seriously. If you fail to do something, what of it? If you screw up, is that the end of the world? Are you really so important that the world will disappear because of your failure? Life is not such a serious thing at all.
