"Positive Irrationality" is the second book by Dan Ariely, which is a continuation of his "Predictable Irrationality". However, you can immediately reassure fans of sequential reading — books are perfectly perceived separately and are practically unrelated to each other. But at the same time, I want to scold a little "Mann, Ivanov and Ferber" — they stuck a nasty advertising business card on my favorite soft bookmark, and even so that it cannot be untied. A nightmare of course. I would also like to say thank you for the new large format of the book, it is in this format that all new editions are released, including "Superfriconomics" (which we have already written about) and "Irreplaceable" (which you will read about soon).
The book is pleasantly pleasing with a wealth of examples and exposition, but it is a little tiring — sometimes Dan embarks on lengthy reflections on the essence of certain processes in the human psyche. I recommend the book to anyone who loves psychology, wants to learn more about why dating girls over the Internet does not work, and the countdown reduces pain sensitivity, why emotional experiences are more important than material purchases, and the reward should be deserved.
Interesting, in general — read. Psychology books are rarely bad, and this one is very good.
