Motorola has officially announced a thin Razr 40 Ultra clamshell. It is equipped with a large 6.9-inch internal folding screen with an LTPO pOLED matrix and a refresh rate of 1-165 Hz, as well as a 3.6-inch external display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz.
The main screen is 10-bit, with a resolution of 2640×1080 pixels, coverage of 123% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and peak brightness of 1400 nits. The manufacturer claims that the place of bending has become completely invisible. There are now 85 components in the hinge itself, it is able to fix the opening angle from 45° to 120°. The life cycle of the mechanism is at least 400,000 openings and closures.
The small display outside has a resolution of 1056×1066 pixels, support for 100% DCI-P3 colors, brightness up to 1000 nits and protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass 7.
This screen has several personalization options and can output a music player, maps, calculator, or even a virtual companion Moo, which is something like a Tamagotchi.
Two main cameras with 12 MP sensors (f/1.5, OIS) and 13 MP (wide-angle with autofocus and macro mode) are built right into the screen. For selfies, a 32 MP module is built into the hole of the large display.
Inside the Razr 40 Ultra has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chip, complemented by 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of internal UFS 3.1 memory. There will also be a version with 12 GB LPDDR5X and a 512 GB UFS 3.1 drive.
The capacity of the built-in battery was 3,800 mAh, there is support for fast charging TurboPower with a capacity of 33 watts via USB-C, as well as wireless charging, albeit only 5 watts.
Among other things: stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a fingerprint scanner on the side, support for 5G SA/NSA, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. The case of the novelty has protection against splashes and dust according to the IP52 standard. The thickness of the device was only 6.99 mm in the open form and 15.1 mm in the compact.
In China, the Razr 40 Ultra clamshell will cost from 5,699 yuan (≈65,000 rubles). It will be available for order from today, June 1, and will go on retail sale from June 5.
