Probably, we should not even talk about the fact that there are cases when Internet access is simply necessary. That's when we need free wi-fi, but how do we find it? Let's consider 3 search options.

The first one is the simplest. In many public places (libraries, train stations, airports (not in Russia), individual coffee shops, McDonalds at worst), this has already become the norm, which is nice.

The next option is more complicated. Here you will have to use a wi-fi scanner or other software to search for free points. That's because the scanner built into your smartphone or laptop is not good enough to detect all the available points. Next, a few free applications that will cope with the task better. For Windows OS: NetStumbler (displays a list of detected points with signal strength, security type) and WeFi (the application uses a database of open access points). On a Mac, iStumbler is suitable, which provides information about the point name, connection type, signal strength and MAC address.

And the last case is the most hopeless, when the first 2 options did not help. Don't forget about your smartphone. It can be used as a modem, however, this will not give you a fast enough connection, but there will be access to the network.
