In the Chrome browser, the first zero-day vulnerability CVE-2023-2033 was discovered in 2023. In this regard, Google has released an emergency update to eliminate the exploit.

According to data from Bleeping Computer, a breach in the system has probably existed since the beginning of the year. With its help, attackers can install spyware on third-party devices.

Google describes it as "a bug that leads to confusion in the Chrome V8 JavaScript engine." The term "zero-day vulnerability" is usually used for exploits that have not been identified at the testing stage and are still unknown to antiviruses.

"Access to error information and links may be restricted until most users receive a fix. We will also keep restrictions if the error exists in a third—party library on which other projects that have not yet been fixed depend," Google's blog says.

Update 112.0.5615.121 is already available for Chrome users on Windows, Mac and Linux.
