I wanted to read this book long before it appeared on the MYTH list. Why? Because I was very interested in the fate of this man who built such a successful investment project that has been living for so long.
I am deeply convinced that a person's fate is determined by his abilities, coupled with the choices and decisions he makes during his life. That's exactly what I wanted to see: what decisions could bring Warren Buffett to where he is now. Where he is going and what he is going to spend his fortune on. I found the answers to these questions in a book published by Mann, Ivanov and Ferber.
Well, now to the evaluation.
I think that the book is not written interestingly enough: from the number of events that surrounded Buffett, it was possible to develop a couple of dramas, a comedy and a couple more adventure films would have remained (with an investment bias, of course). However, this may be a consequence of translation, although the content could hardly have suffered so much during translation.
However, this very content, conveyed not in the best way, in my opinion, at the same time draws not only and not even so much a portrait of the main character, but the history of America, at least its part related to investments and finance. In this context, I learned a lot of interesting things about Bill Gates and other much more famous characters, simply because their lives intersected with the life of the main character.
I do not know if it is possible to learn how to be as successful an investor as Buffett from this book or not, but it is definitely possible to find out what he is like, a man capable of building an empire by rolling his snowball.
I would recommend the book to anyone who wants to learn Buffett's principles and the facts of his biography demonstrating them.
The main financial principle is to find the undervalued, buy and hold on to it.
