This book breaks down the stereotypes about introverts that are stuck in our heads.

Devora Zak, the author of the book, tries to refute the myths that introverts are unsociable and cannot have many contacts and acquaintances. First of all, the book aims to show the differences between introverts, extroverts and centroverts; their weaknesses and strengths.

But do not think that the book is only for introverts and, perhaps, a little for centroverts. It's not like that! Any extrovert will emphasize a lot of useful things from the book, and most importantly, will learn to better understand introverts.

Devora gives many tips on how to establish an effective network of contacts and remain an Introvert at the same time (not for nothing with a capital letter). She is very proud of being an introvert herself and strongly emphasizes the coolness of introverts in the book:)

I really liked Devora's platinum rule, which sounds like this:

Treat others the way they want to be treated.

This rule differs from the one we are used to «Do with others the way you want them to do with you », but it perfectly helps to establish contacts with any person. Having tried this rule for yourself, it is worth noting that it works, but you need to practice a lot:)

The author also repeatedly emphasizes that it is always necessary to make a good first impression. It is very difficult to change a negative first impression… It is better not to allow such situations.

As always, I offer you a list of interesting thoughts from the book:

  • Time is your most valuable asset.
  • Neither introverts nor extroverts can be corrected.
  • Networking can be learned.
  • Listen and respect the interlocutor.
  • Introverts sometimes need to be alone, this is normal.
  • Introverts think before they speak, and extroverts think when they speak :)
  • Come to the event in advance and always set a goal for this event.
  • A good contact can be better than a lot of acquaintances.
  • All introverts need to take pauses during networking to recuperate.

There is still a lot to add, but I strongly advise you to read this book in full with all the explanations.

And here are a couple of rules for introverts in building a network of contacts:

  1. Take a break.
  2. Analyze the information.
  3. Regularity in all actions.

And remember, — don't try « to change » or « to correct ».
