Few people are interested in older people, unless it's Iggy Pop or Warren Buffett. Old people who have not accumulated millions and have not become rock stars, it is customary to respect and feel a little sorry: they have already lived their lives. Vladimir Yakovlev, the founder of Kommersant, a "Snob" and a professional photographer, undertook to debunk the myth that there is no life after 60.

Yakovlev travels around the world and meets people who run marathons after 60, conquer mountains and jump with a parachute. He photographs the heroes and records their stories. These stories turned out to be "The Age of Happiness" — a huge colorful edition with a nice layout and great photos.

I've been reading for a long time how a person changed himself at the age of 34? Now imagine how those who do the same thing at 98 motivate!

This book is not for those over 60. I wouldn't risk giving it to my stay-at–home grandmother - I'm afraid the motivational charge of the book is not enough for her, and a photo of old ladies with parachutes will work as a teaser. But for parents who are approaching the "fatal" age line – yes! And those who are 30 or 40 years old before the "line" – yes, too! And in general, this is a book for the young. I'll explain now.

We work, make repairs, meet deadlines and always expect that now this madhouse will end and life will begin. Tomorrow. We'll just put new windows in. And then the reporting for the quarter – and tomorrow immediately life to the fullest. But when this "tomorrow" comes, we call it a pension and give up a full life.

"The age of happiness" — about how to live this "tomorrow". And also about what values are true, and that it would be good to find a place for them in life today, but, in general, it's never too late.
