Even at the launch of Android 12L, the OS version for large-screen devices, Google promised to improve the standard applications for folding smartphones and tablets. Many services have already received a redesign, now it's Google Drive's turn.
As notes Google Workspace Updates Weekly Recap — November 17, 2023 / Workspace Updates Google in the announcement post, the cloud storage client on large screens will now be brought closer to the web version of Google Drive on a PC. The main changes are as follows:
- A folder hierarchy will be displayed above the main list of documents so that the user can see how he got to a specific section and can quickly return to the desired folder.
- The "List" display mode allows you to see when the file was last edited and how much space it takes up in the storage. You can switch between a "List" and a "Grid" with large file previews by pressing a single button.
- The color palette of the application now meets the standards of Material Design 3.
The update has already started, and all users should receive it in the coming weeks.
