My toolbar is clogged, or we use keywords in the browser

Any active Internet surfer sooner or later comes across the fact that the panel of hot bookmarks of his browser is overflowing. (The bookmarks bar is located under the address bar, and all bookmarks in it are accessible with a single mouse click). Of course, you can use drop-down menus, but how annoying it is!

Today is just the day when my hot panel turned out to be full. And then I remembered about keywords, which are available in Firefox and Opera. The trick is that when I save a bookmark to a site that I use a hundred times a day, I can assign it a keyword — or just a letter combination. Then, when I want to refer to this site, it is enough for me to write this very letter combination in the address bar. That is, now, if I press Ctrl+L (focus on the address bar) and enter «lh» — and immediately I find myself on the site Lifehacker.ru . And if I enter «lh admin», I will find myself in the admin panel of a Life Hacker, and I will have nothing left but to write another post.

Of course, letter combinations can be assigned not only to ordinary bookmarks, but also to bookmarklets, and some of them are specially sharpened for using the address bar. For example, GmailThis Supercharged allows you not only to call the Gmail interface for creating emails, but also immediately (without jumping the cursor over the fields of the webform) to write the subject, the text of the letter and the addressee.

To simplify the creation of bookmarks with letter combinations, I can recommend a plugin for Firefox — OpenBook. Check the box in its settings that you want to see the Keywords field immediately when creating bookmarks, press Ctrl+D and forget about the crowded toolbar, and use the freed brain resources to memorize letter combinations.
