The Marshmallow experiment was first conducted back in 1960 at Stanford University. A group of children aged 4 years were given marshmallows (marshmallows — the American equivalent of our marshmallows) and told that if they did not eat it right now, but suffered for 20 minutes, then they would receive another one as a reward. Some of the children were able to withstand 20 minutes, someone ate marshmallows almost immediately. Then, as time passed, the scientists studied the progress of these same children in adolescence (according to questionnaires filled out by their parents and teachers). As a result, the children who showed patience and were able to wait 20 minutes showed better results in their studies compared to those who could not endure.
Conclusion: do you want your child to study better? Cultivate perseverance, determination and the ability to wait in him. As a mother, I can tell you that I am learning a lot anew with my son, so this is a very useful activity.
