Due to a new bug in iOS 17, the iPhone screen freezes completely

Netizens have noticed A Strange Bug In iOS 17 Freezes Your iPhone Entirely, But There Is An Easy Fix / WCCFTech a strange bug that causes the iPhone screen with iOS 17.1.1 to freeze completely — and all the buttons too. The life hacker made sure that the bug works on the iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 17.1.1, and there are also messages from users of the iPhone 13 and 15 lines confirming the same problem.

The bug is activated if you open the search in the "Application Library" and swipe left or right on the screen with the space bar pressed. If you then click on the search bar again, the screen and all the physical buttons of the smartphone stop responding.

The sequence is quite specific, but it can be performed randomly during normal smartphone use. If this happens to you, restarting your iPhone will help you get it back working. To do this:

  1. Press and immediately release the volume up button.
  2. Press and immediately release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the power button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

This error will probably be fixed in one of the future iOS updates, but for now, users should be more careful when using the "Application Library".
