WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to transfer chat history and multimedia to another iPhone without using iCloud. This is reported by the WABetaInfo resource.
Now, to move data, you need to create a backup copy of it in the cloud storage. The "Transfer chats to iPhone" feature will greatly simplify this process: users will only need to install WhatsApp on their new phone, register with the same number, and then use the old smartphone to scan the QR code.
In addition, thanks to the new option, users will no longer be limited to 5 GB of free iCloud storage.
The feature is already available to some testers who have installed the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS from the TestFlight app. However, there is no information yet when it will appear to all users of the messenger.
