Do you like coffee?

I am sure that most of our readers will answer this question in the affirmative. And if you find out that coffee, in addition to its amazing taste and unforgettable aroma, also has many beneficial properties for the body, then you will love coffee even more.

Somehow it so happened that coffee has long been in the ranks of products that are not too healthy. What was not attributed to this noble product! And problems with pressure, and a bad effect on the gastrointestinal tract, and even the creation of favorable conditions for cancer.

However, in fact, this information is erroneous. Studies by the National Cancer Institute based on thirteen years of health observations of 402,260 people, published on May 17 in the New England Journal of Medicine, indicate that devoted coffee drinkers are 16% less at risk of premature death.

In support of these conclusions, we present a list of ten properties of coffee that benefit your body. Just remember that consuming any product in excessive doses can be dangerous. And also that the sugar and cream in your coffee can negate all the benefits of this amazing drink.

1. Prevention of cholelithiasis

In 2002, Harvard researchers found that women who drink at least four cups of coffee a day have a 25 percent lower risk of gallstones. Earlier studies have shown similar results for men.

2. Prevention of depression

Women who drank two or three cups of coffee daily were 15 percent less likely to develop depression. And among those who drink four cups or more, this percentage increases to 20. This was announced in 2011 in the report Archives of Internal Medicine.

3. Memory improvement

Coffee can help improve both short-term and long-term memory. In 2005, the Radiological Society of North America conducted a study that found that drinking two cups of caffeinated coffee improves short-term memory and reaction speed. Although scientists have long noticed that coffee reduces the risk of Alzheimer's disease, researchers from the University of South Florida only explained this link in 2011. They recommend drinking 4-5 cups a day to increase GCSF or granulocyte colony stimulating factor, which decreases in Alzheimer's disease and is the cause of memory problems.

4. Less risk of diabetes

Studies show that coffee drinkers are less likely to develop type 2 diabetes, and the probability decreases to 50 percent or more. A January 2012 publication in the Journal of Agricultural & Food Chemistry may explain why. This is how specific substances included in coffee act, which block hIAPP — a polypeptide that causes protein fiber disorders.

5. Reduces the risk of cancer

Today, it has been proven for sure that drinking coffee reduces the risk of breast cancer. In 2011, a study by Breast Cancer Research revealed a 20 percent reduction in the incidence of this form of cancer in regular coffee drinkers. But this applies not only to women. Approximately the same results were obtained regarding prostate cancer in men.

6. Normalization of metabolism

Coffee will help you maintain a normal weight, and sometimes even lose extra pounds. The caffeine contained in coffee stimulates metabolism, and chlorogenic acid can reduce glucose absorption.

7. Reduces the risk of Parkinson's disease

The Journal of the American Medical Association in 2000 published the results of studies proving that caffeine reduces the risk of Parkinson's disease. In 2010, scientists confirmed this fact and determined that drinking two to three cups of coffee a day can reduce the chances of developing the disease by 25 percent.

8. Antioxidant properties

Harvard researcher Edward Giovannucci in the study Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention notes that coffee has more antioxidants than most vegetables and fruits. In 2005, another study showed that coffee is the most important source of antioxidants in the diet of Americans.

9. Performance improvement

We are all well aware of the effect of increasing the tone from a cup of strong coffee. Caffeine causes a surge of energy, increased endurance, concentration and reaction for a short period, which can be useful when performing an important task.

10. Prevention of gout

A 2007 study found that constant coffee consumption significantly reduces the risk of gout and other diseases associated with elevated uric acid levels. At the same time, the consumption of both regular and decaffeinated coffee had a positive effect.
