Runkeeper Mobile App Review for iPhone

As I said before, my relationship with running was not particularly warm and one of the main reasons for this was the tedium of the process itself. Now I have the opportunity to make this activity more interesting with the help of various mobile running apps. If earlier I was just running and couldn't figure out what distance I had already run, how much time had passed, how many calories I had burned in the end, now it all lines up in beautiful graphs and is reported in a pleasant female voice every 5 minutes. Almost every girl with a little bit of sports experience automatically translates these calories in her head into the number of cakes and chocolates in terms of 100 g, which she can afford today. And, accordingly, the reverse, much less pleasant, calculations in the form of additional see And this already makes the running process more interesting and brings the spirit of competition, even with yourself.

Why did I choose Runkeeper out of all the apps? Because one of its biggest advantages is the support of third-party iPhone firmware. At first I squinted at Endomondo, but the application politely rebuffed me, referring to the outdated capabilities of my phone. Also, as it turned out, quite a lot of my friends and acquaintances use this application and I finally decided on the choice. Of course, there are pros and cons, but there are still more pros.

After a little thought, we decided to pay for an Elite account for a month, as it allows you to insert charts and a map of my runs on any site. This opportunity costs $4.99 per month or $19.99 per year. plus fitness classes are becoming available. If this is not so important to you, you can use the free standard version.

On the start!

To get started, you must register on the runkeeper application website and specify the measurement for distance and weight (km and kg) in the settings. To do this, go to Settings, then select Preferences and change the measurement measures.

The possibilities of viewing your profile for your friends and outsiders are, respectively, in the Sharing section.

After all the settings, you just have to download the app for your phone (Android or iPhone), log in, choose a music track list (which you will prepare in advance) and start!

Before running, launch the application, wait until your GPS coordinates are determined and only then click on Start. If you don't wait, you will either lose a whole segment of your journey, or you will be marked at the wrong point and all subsequent calculations will not be correct!

And now briefly about the sections on the site.

Profile

In this section you can see the feed of your friends from the team (their photos, jogging, comments, who they added as friends, etc.), you can comment on their posts and share your thoughts and news.

Activities

Here are all your sports activities (jogging, walking, swimming, etc.) with graphs, maps, calories burned, average speed, distance and your comments. You can post the selected activity on Facebook* or Twitter and indicate with whom you did a run from your team.

Elite features: You can get a link to insert your activity into any blog, export to navigation programs and devices (GPX), as well as export to Google Earth.

Routes

Here you can save, for example, your frequent hiking routes that you would not like to post in your activities.

Street Team

Here you can see all your friends (like-minded people) in Runkeeper, the number of their activities. There is a search for friends by common location (Local Users), although here you will get a list of people from your city. You can also add your friends from Google.

Report (FitnessReport)

This section contains charts of your progress, analytics, your personal records and trends, painted by dates.

Races

Here are the data about the races in which you took part — marathons, street races, races on maps, etc.

In the mobile version, you can take photos during your classes, view the schedule, time, distance and calories of the current activity, edit or delete failed ones (GPS failure).

After finishing your lesson, you can immediately send the data to Facebook* or Twitter.

I think that this brief overview of the application's functions is quite enough for a first acquaintance. While I will test it and check for strength. I hope Runkeeper won't let me down.
